The Vans Warped Tour is choosing profit over principal by not saying no to racism by not canceling their concerts in Phoenix. Tour founder and promoter Kevin Lyman is hedging on the issue trying to rationalize staying in Arizona despite the state's racial profiling SB 1070 law.
It is completely ironic that among the tours associates is human rights organization Amnesty International along with a number of others whose principals clash completely with Arizona's new law and all that it stands for. Can you imagine John Lennon's Educational Tour Bus supporting SB 1070?
Vans is a Southern California company for goodness sake. It makes absolutely no sense. Do The Untouchables, The Dickies, the Adolescents or any of the other long list of bands who are part of the tour support Arizona?
Equally ironic is the 2010 Vans Warped Passport Program. (SERIOUSLY!)
The Warped Tour must pull out of Arizona now. Contact them and the organizations and individuals associated with them and demand action today.
