Lilith Fair Cancels Arizona Concert Date

"...it might have been the result of a seed planted by Go-Gos frontwoman Belinda Carlisle earlier this month. In a Facebook posting, Carlisle condemned the state's immigration law, set to go into effect July 29. The posting has been removed and the Go-Gos, in a statement Monday, said they had no idea why the date was ditched.

"Lilith Fair has been suffering from lagging ticket sales and have gone so far as to add Selena Gomez to the line-up in the hopes of bringing in the under-20 crowd. Now the tour has cancelled their July 8 date in Phoenix, Ariz., but it may not be because of poor sales.

Go-Go's lead singer Belinda Carlisle took exception to Arizona's recently passed immigration law, which states any person unable to document they're in the United States legally can be sentenced to six months in jail and fined $2,500 U.S.
