On April 23, 2010, Arizona Governor Janis Brewer (R) signed Senate Bill 1070, the most radical immigration legislation in the United States, effectively permitting racial profiling in the state of Arizona. The law requires police to demand immigration papers from anyone who they have a "reasonable suspicion" is in the country illegally. This blog will chronicle the major events regarding this racist and inhumane law.
We enthusiastically encourage a boycott of the State of Arizona until the law is repealed.

Al Sharpton Vows Summer Non-Violent Protests

" The Rev. Al Sharpton vowed Wednesday to bring "freedom walkers" to Arizona this summer to engage in non-violent civil disobedience if the state's strict new immigration law goes into effect...

Speaking before a prayer vigil began at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 1401 E. Jefferson St., Sharpton compared the fight against the law to the civil-rights struggle in the American South, arguing that there will be no way to enforce the law without having police engage in racial profiling. He added that immigration is a federal, not a state, issue.
