On April 23, 2010, Arizona Governor Janis Brewer (R) signed Senate Bill 1070, the most radical immigration legislation in the United States, effectively permitting racial profiling in the state of Arizona. The law requires police to demand immigration papers from anyone who they have a "reasonable suspicion" is in the country illegally. This blog will chronicle the major events regarding this racist and inhumane law.
We enthusiastically encourage a boycott of the State of Arizona until the law is repealed.

Marko Moulitsas (Daily Kos) On Arizona

Marko Moulitsas Zuñiga is the godfather of the political blog. Moulitsas, the founder of the political must read Daily Kos and a columnist for Newsweek and The Hill, is Greek-Salvadorian from Chicago who served in the Army. The former Republican has become a force in the media and in Democratic politics. As a Hispanic, he has been on fire after the passage of the State of Arizona's immigration law. Markos is artfully articulate and has a clear political scope on issues. The Daily Kos is worth a visit to monitor the Arizona debate.

That's the reason that the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police opposed the law..." (READ MORE)

Immigration Law Is Definitely Arizona's Prop 187

"Arizona Latinos have gone, literally overnight, from being perhaps the most pro-GOP in the nation, to joining California as the most anti-GOP ones in the nation. This, in a state in which whites are soon to be a minority...

All of that, in a single week, because of a single, hateful law. And don't be surprised if Republicans continue to bleed Latino support in the weeks and months ahead as Latinos start facing increasing harassment because of the law.

That's why Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano thinks the law will kill the Arizona GOP (along with the state as well)..." (READ MORE)
